Capiz Gets 16 PNP Patrol Jeeps
Department of the Interior and Local Government Sec. Mel Senen Sarmiento and PNP chief Ricardo Marquez are expected to grace and lead the turnover activity.

“These patrol jeeps will help a lot the local police stations' crime prevention campaign,” said Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) Officer-In-Charge S/Supt. Robert Rodriguez in a recent interview with RMN station here.

The units for Capiz form part of the PNP’s procurement and distribution of patrol jeeps as a strategy to reduce crime in the country.

“We will be implementing this October the Oplan Lambat Sibat to intensify police presence in the streets and these units will help our policemen in ensuring police visibility,” Rodriguez added.

Oplan Lambat Sibat is a deliberate, programmatic and sustained police approach in preventing crimes that is being cascaded to all the regions.

Based on police records, the initiative has effectively reduced crime in the National Capital Region by more than 60% since it was implemented in June 2014. (JSC/AAL-PIA6 Capiz)
