New Fire Station Established in Capiz

The firetruck for Maayon Fire Station is among the initial 80 units up for distribution from the overall 469 fire engines allocated by BFP to various local government units with no firetrucks or defective units nationwide.

The BFP initiative was announced by Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Sec. Mar Roxas during a dialogue with local chief executives of supertyphoon Yolanda affected LGUs in the region last November 2014 here.

It was learned that each of the upcoming firetrucks will be complemented with established fire station and DBM funding allocation for 14 firemen.

Lauzon then assigned firemen who will man the new fire station.

MFS, which will also serve the municipalities of Panay, Pontevedra and Panit-an, will be supervised by Maayon Municipal Fire Marshal SFO3 Jim Deseo.

Based on BFP – Capiz records, the other fire stations have been established in Roxas City as well as in Cuartero, Dao, Dumalag, Dumarao, Ivisan, Jamindan, Mambusao, Pres. Roxas, Sigma and Tapaz towns. (JCM/AAL/PIA6 Capiz)
