DTI Helps MSMEs to Build Back Better
DTI – Capiz Public Information Officer Ken Cuñada said that the post super typhoon Yolanda assistance will be utilized as a facility to dry up abacca strips by about 269 abacca farmers from barangays Jaena, Ganzon and San Juan in the municipality.

This will be complemented with a mechanical stripping machine designed by the National Abacca Research Center by March.

“As soon as the machine is available, DTI will teach the farmers on how to use it,” Cuñada noted.

The DTI intervention has also turned over five hi-speed sewing machines, three edging machines with edge cutter, two piping flatbed interlock stitch machine and a 10 KVA industrial generator to the Dao Federation of Cooperatives thru the Dao municipal government.

The assistance will upgrade the federation’s facility in the production of various garment items

The SSF project is a big push for MSME development by improving its competitiveness through the provision of machinery, equipment, tools, systems, skills and knowledge under a shared system. (JCM/AAL/PIA 6 Capiz)
