Seminar Helps Jobless Start Small Business
ROXAS CITY, Capiz, June 5 (PIA) –- Fifty-four participants availed of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)–Provincial Office’s weekly Basic Entrepreneurship Seminar (BES) last May.

The seminar aims to help address unemployment by helping Capiceños, especially the jobless, start a small business.

It is in line with the DTI’s ARISE (A Responsive and Innovative Strategy for Entrepreneurship) program which promotes entrepreneurship and help existing entrepreneurs improve their competencies.

“The seminar is open and free for everybody,” said DTI–Capiz Public Information Officer Ken Cuñada.

Based on DTI-Capiz records, some of the participants in the previous months included returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW).

She added that participants were given certificates after the seminar, which were held every Friday afternoon at the DTI Provincial Office.

BES is in collaboration with the Provincial Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (PSMED) Council, Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Center, local government units and some non-government organizations. (JCM/AAL/PIA 6 Capiz)
