The regional kick-off activity  held at the Roxas City School for Philippine Craftsmen, May 30, was also graced by Donna Paras, representing the  DepEd national office, Roxas City Schools Division Superintendent Roel Bermejo, Mrs. Melanie Arancillo, representing Congressman Antonio del Rosario, Parents, Teachers Associations and various stakeholders

Ledesma said that Roxas City DepEd was chosen as the regional kick-off site for the Brigada Eskwela because many schools in said division were awardees to the Brigada Eskwela competition both at the regional and national level.

“The Brigada Eskwela implementers in Roxas City Division are excellent, the reason why many schools here stood up in the said competition,” she said.

She stressed that the cooperation and valuable support of the community has resulted in an improved school facility for learning.

Ledesma likewise stressed the people’s involvement for a school which is safe, orderly and ready from kindergarten to senior high school for the entire school year.

Brigada Eskwela which started from the Adopt-A-School Program through Republic Act 8525 aims to practice shared governance, bring the spirit of education to the community level and utilize local resources to improve public school.(JCM/JBG/PIA6)
