CAPELCO Ensures Brown-Out-Free Elections PDF Print E-mail
CAPELCO general manager Engr. Edgar Diaz said that a plan of action before, during and after elections will guide the cooperative on the measures to undertake  especially during the 72-hour operation of the responding teams.

“All linemen will render duty and maintenance crew will be established to trouble shoot any unscheduled power interruptions for immediate restoration,” Diaz said in an interview with local RMN station.

Like in the May 2013 elections, heavy maintenance groups which are all equipped with posts, transformers and other electrical accessories will be formed by the cooperative.

Diaz added that preventive maintenance activities along its distribution lines are being conducted to clear power lines with obstructions which may hamper the continuous provision of power supply in the province during the May elections.

The Commission on Elections has deputized various government agencies and law enforcement offices in a resolution promulgated last month to provide sufficient personnel to secure the nationwide transmission lines and other related power facilities.

The tightened security along transmission towers and lines and distribution utilities is aimed to avoid blackouts which may hamper the processes of the elections. (JCM/AAL/PIA6 Capiz)
