Capiztahan Trade Fair to Feature 46 Exhibitors PDF Print E-mail
The four-day marketing event through the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will open on April 14 as among the major activities of the celebration which mark the province’s 115th foundation anniversary.

“Two weeks into the 2016 Capiztahan Celebration, local producers and manufacturers are almost done with their product line collections which will be up for sale during the fair,” said DTI provincial director Ermelinda Pollentes.

She stressed that the establishment of the Capiz Toll Packaging Center has been very helpful in the effort of the DTI to improve and upscale Capiz products especially those in the processed food sector.

“Capiz food products have greatly improved in terms of quality, safety and appearance through the help of a hired food technology expert,” Pollentes noted.

The Center, a Shared Service Facility of DTI, is a legacy project of Governor Victor A. Tanco aimed to help food Micro Small and Medium Entreprenuers (MSMEs) ready not only for domestic but also for international market competition.

Food MSMEs also got the assistance of Japanese Overseas Cooperation Volunteer (JOCV) worker Hiroshi Nokajima for more than a year now to comply with their License to Operate (LTO) requirements with the Food and Drug Administration.

Pollentes is encouraging the consuming public to support local products as these translate to more jobs and economic development. (JCM/AAL/DTI/PIA6 Capiz)
