BMBE refers to any business entity or enterprise engaged in the production, processing or manufacturing of products or commodities, including agro-processing, trading and services, whose total assets including those arising from loans but exclusive of the land on which the particular business entity's office, plant and equipment are situated, shall not be more than Three Million Pesos (P3,000,000.00).
All BMBEs shall be exempt from income tax for income arising from the operations of the enterprise. They are also exempted from the coverage of the Minimum Wage Law provided that their employees will be covered with social security and healthcare benefits.
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) provincial director Ermelinda Pollentes said that Center’s various activities are aimed at helping Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to become more competitive and sustainable.
“The national government, through the efforts of Senator Bam Aquino, has earmarked funds for NCs throughout the country to provide MSMEs the needed assistance,” she said.
Other activities/trainings scheduled to be conducted this year at the Center include Effective Business Writing, Product Development Consultancy for the Furnishing/Other Crafts sector, and Food Sector Firm-level Consultancy.
There will also be two batches of Project Proposal Preparation Workshop, Simple Bookkeeping with Pricing and Costing and Financial Literacy Seminar within the year.
Basic Entrepreneurship Seminars will continue to be facilitated every Friday of the second and third week of the month for Overseas Filipino Workers and their beneficiaries who are interested to go into business.
However, a minimum of 15 participants per session is encouraged to maximize the use of government resources and facilities.
For other trainings, a manageable size of up to 25 persons only will be accommodated.
Pollentes stressed that priority will be given to the duly registered entrepreneurs and would-be-entrepreneurs that are willing to register their enterprises.
