DTI – provincial director Ermelinda P. Pollentes said that the two-day activity aims to provide a venue where Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the province will be given an opportunity to interact with providers and suppliers of green products, technologies and services to make them more competitive and disaster resilient.
“It will also include a briefing on the importance of going green and the benefits that can be derived from it,” she added.
Invited resource persons will talk about solar panels, LED lights, organic farming, water saving facilities or equipment and notable green practices in the country.
Pollentes noted that the financing forum will give MSMEs an opportunity to increase their awareness on available loan packages or credit windows which they can tap in line with greening their operations.
DTI will also facilitate a tour of the participants to City Mall for an observation and briefing on the mall’s green practices.
An online resource noted that part of the mall’s power requirements is sourced out from its solar power generation system. (JCM/AAL/PIA6 Capiz)
