New Homes for Yolanda Survivors PDF Print E-mail
The 15 new houses are in addition to 45 core shelter units that were already turned over to beneficiaries from barangays Molit, Aglibacao and Baye-baye of the town as part of the Caritas Italiana’s Shelter Reconstruction Project through Community Managed Livelihood Development approach.

The units, a combination of concrete and half bamboo slit with four-sided (quatro aguas) galvanized iron roof  will  also be built by CASAC in Agcagay and Agambulong in the municipality.

“All these barangays will be also recipients of a livelihood component,” Valiente noted, clarifying that the livelihood assistance will go to other qualified and interested residents of the community.

Recently, about 150 pigs were dispersed by CASAC to 90 beneficiaries of a livelihood assistance in Jamindan and Roxas City as part of the on-going church-based assistance to identified supertyphoon Yolanda victims in the province.

Aside from the CMLD’s Shelter Reconstruction Project, another housing units will be built through the Emergency Appeal Program of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines – National Secretariat for Social Action in Brgys. Quios, Panit-an; Balit, Mambusao; Janguslob, Dumarao; Sto. Niño, Dumalag; and Sitio Cambuyayao in Pawa, Panay. (JCM/AAL/PIA6 Capiz)
