3ID Gets Recognition for Reform, Transformation Thrust
According to 3ID Public Affairs Office head Major Ray Tiongson, in their drive towards genuine reform and transformation, the said division based at Camp Macario Peralta in Jamindan, Capiz was given recognition by Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff General Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr. with Philippine Army Commanding General Hernando Iriberri.
Tiongson said that 3ID Commander Major General Rey Leonardo Guerrero personally received the award during the Army Governance Forum recently held in Metro Manila.
He said that the 3ID was one of the successful army major units to achieve the Compliant Status or the second stage in the four stages of the systematic governance approach on AGP, which include the initiated, compliant, proficient and institutionalized stages.
In June last year, the said Army division was also given recognition of Initiated status after it has completed its Charter statement defining the 3ID’s vision, mission, core values and core purpose, including the Strategy Map which defines and communicates priorities and focus as well as the Performance Governance Scorecard which measures performance against priorities, he said.
Tiongson explained that a major pre-requisite to attain the Compliant stage is a multi-sector governance coalition or the participation of the external stakeholders in promoting good governance in the organization and share responsibility in pursuing transformation initiatives.
He added that the launching of the Multi-Sector Advisory Board (MSAB) chaired by Iloilo City Representative Jerry Treñas in September last year that became operational and functional board which provides external advise in the implementation of the 3ID Transformation Roadmap was one of the important factors to the conferment of the Compliant status.
He also said that the validation of the 3ID Performance Governance Scorecard and the Subsidiary Scorecards of the Infantry Brigades and Battalions under 3ID and post units of the command also paved the way in the attainment of said status.
On the other hand, Guerrero vowed that the Army here will continue to work together with its stakeholders in attaining good governance and performance excellence in the entire organization.
Guerrero said that with team work, they would be able to realize their vision to be a reliable, committed, disciplined and capable unit that is a source of pride and a partner in nation-building in the Visayas. (DPAO/JBG/PIA6-Capiz)
