This after a memorandum was recently signed by Roxas City Mayor Angel Alan Celino, 61st Infantry “Hunter” Battalion of the 3rd Infantry Division, Philippine Army Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Victor Llapitan and Roxas City Police chief Julio Gustilo Jr.
According to 3ID Public Affairs Officer Major Rey Tiongson, the joint memorandum has declared the City as a peaceful area and ready for further development.
Tiongson said that the inter-agency collaboration of the PNP, Philippine Army and Local Government of Roxas City has successfully prevented and denied the entry, influence and threat from the insurgents.
With such development, the socio-economic accomplishments to include tourism, investments and infrastructure boosted the progress of the city.
Witnessing the event, December 22 at the Roxas city Hall, were Capiz governor Victor Tanco, 3ID Commander Major General Rey Leonardo Guerrero, PNP Regional director Josephus Angan, 301st Brigade Commander Colonel Eric Uchida, City Councilor Jose Agdalipe, he said.
For his part, Mayor Celino has expressed his gratitude to the PNP and Philippine Army for playing significant role towards achieving a peaceful city.
On the other hand, Guerrero reminded the public that the peace efforts must continue as the urged everyone to be vigilant against threats to ensure sustained peace and security and gains for the community, he said.
Tiongson likewise stressed that Guerrero also pointed out united efforts for sustained peace is needed from everyone. (DPAO/JBG/PIA6)
