'Tagbuanay 2013' Marks Week-long Tourism Week Celebration PDF Print E-mail
The national tourism gathering, dubbed as “Tagbuanay 2013” set from September 25 to 26, is organized by the provincial government of Capiz through its Provincial Tourism Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO) in partnership with the Western Visayas Department of Tourism. On its second year now, the Tagbuanay is a venue of interactive dialogue, skills sharing and various learning opportunities through lectures, community exposure, familiarization tour, trade exhibition for Tourism and Hospitality Management educators and students. Resource speakers from Manila and other big cities will be here to discuss various topics during the said event here. The holding of the Regional Tourism Expo, which will be from September 26 to 28, on the other hand, aims to highlight the entrepreneurial tourism and provide a venue for tourism stakeholders in Western Visayas to meet together and build a strong business linkages and partnership. Capiz PTCAO head Alphonsus Tesoro urged the public come and visit the Capiz Gymnasium to join and be part of the occasion. “Let’s patronize our very own products from Capiz and be aware of the various services offered here,” Tesoro stressed. Included in the week-long activities are the Department of Tourism’s Accreditation Caravan from September 23 to 26 at the Hall of Governors, Provincial Capitol and “Panday sang Banwa: Culture and Governance Seminar Workshop on September 26 to 28 at Nesta's Hilltop Hotel, Roxas City, One Stop-Shop on frontline services, Langoy Capiz which is a Regional invitational swimming tournament, various cultural performances and skills competitions and exhibitions. This year’s event adapts the World Tourism Day theme, “Tourism and Water - Protecting our common future.”
