DTI Capiz Set to Destroy Uncertified Electrical Items PDF Print E-mail
The products that failed to conform to the safety regulatory standards. These were confiscated from five local commercial establishments in the last couple of years.

“Uncertified electrical produces pose danger to lives and properties,” said a DTI statement.

Among the items seized were starters, electrical tapes, assorted Christmas lights, rectangular as well as square snap switches and lamp holders valued at about P158,700.

“The disposal action covered by Orders issued by the Office of the Adjudication Officer dated 5 October 2012 is final and executory,” the article further noted.

The destruction proceedings will be witnessed by the Commission on Audit (COA) as provided by law that that states that “seized products which adversely affect health and/or safety of the public shall be destroyed or condemned in the presence of representatives of the apprehending unit and COA.”
