Capiz Town Sets WASAR Training PDF Print E-mail
PDRRMC – Capiz Action Officer Esperidion Pelaez said that the first group of participants will undergo training on June 17 to 21 while the second batch is scheduled on June 24 to 28.

The training aims to strengthen the capabilities of participants in responding o emergency situations.

“Each batch will have 53 participants composed of barangay officials as well as members of civilian volunteer organizations (CVO) and some municipal employees,” noted Pelaez.

PDRRMC has already conducted six WASAR trainings since 2011.

The speakers and instructors for the upcoming training will be representatives from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), Philippine Army, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Communication and Warning Group and Capiz Emergency and Response Team.

The training will cover various topics like orientation on disaster preparedness, Basic Life Support and vehicular accident extrication, rope and knot skills, life saving techniques, mass casualty incident and incident command system and mobilization procedures, among others.

It will also involve actual demonstrations of the Life Saving Techniques and Basic Swimming and Life Saving Strokes, among others. (AAL/PIA 6 Capiz)
