Roxas City Barangays To Have Police Details PDF Print E-mail
ROXAS CITY, Capiz (July 11) -- A briefing to all “Pulis sa Barangay” (PSBs) designates for the city’s 47 barangays was conducted last week at the covered gym of Inzo Arnaldo Village here to orient concerned members of Roxas City Police Station (RCPS) on their duties and responsibilities in view of the additional assignment. PSBs are embodied in the 10 administrative and operational priorities of PNP Chief Police Director General Nicanor Bartolome which mandates the designation of at least one policeman for each barangay.

RCPS chief Supt. Savador Dagoon, Jr. conducted the briefing on designated PSBs.

Each PSB shall visit his/her assigned barangay at least twice every week in order to carry out community-based activities like dialogue, pulong-pulong, meetings, house-to-house visits, crime prevention and safety awareness lectures and distribution of information materials such as personal safety leaflets and brochures.

The deployed policemen are also tasked to identify peace and order issues and other public safety concerns such as prevalent crimes, drug problems, health issues, hazard/disaster prone areas aside from providing police assistance during emergencies and disasters as well as supervising and assisting the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPAT).

“All activities shall be conducted in coordination with the barangay officials and other key stakeholders and support groups,” said RCPS Public Information Officer P02 Ramil Arcangeles.

PNP programs and special projects geared towards police community relations are being pursued to increase police presence and encourage community participation, Arcangeles added. (JCM/AAL-PIA 6 Capiz)
