ROXAS City (June 18) — A new Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) building will soon be constructed at the agency’s station in Brgy. Culasi here, said 1Lt. Junior Grade Jimmy Vingno, PCG-Roxas commander.
The building will be built through the efforts of Department of Transportation and Communication Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II.
Also, a vessel traffic monitoring system (VTMS) will also be put up at the Culasi port soon, according to Vingno.
The VTMS will be used to supervise the territorial waters of Capiz and Roxas City.
On Wednesday, the PCG commandant, Vice Admiral Edmund C. Tan, visited this city to look into the problems of the station.
Tan was the station commander of PCG-Roxas in 1994.
During his visit, he announced that all PCG personnel will avail themselves of additional benefits from the government.
Tan also said the national government will also procure a new vessel for the agency to improve its services./PN
