694 Capiz Cops Pass Physical Fitness Test
ROXAS CITY, Capiz (May 25) -- A total of 694 policemen in Capiz have passed the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) conducted by a team from the Police Regional Office last April at the Villareal Stadium here.
The team was led by Supt. Nilda Rapiz and PRO – 6 medical officer Police S/Insp. John Dexter Lopez who checked on policemen’s physical fitness and health.
PFT is being conducted twice a year through a series of exercises like sit-ups, pull-ups, push-ups and jog walk as part of the Philippine National Police’ thrust in maintaining fit and prime law enforcement personnel.
It aims to evaluate the physical condition of PNP members in terms of stamina, strength, speed and agility which will be the basis for their prompt response to criminality in their areas.
It is also a a mandatory activity for all policemen, except for pregnant policewomen and those who are exempted by virtue of their present medical conditions.
Based on the Capiz Police Provincial Office’ (CPPO) records, there were policemen who have not taken the PFT due to various reasons like age and health problems.
Others were simply and absent and officially out for schooling.
However, policemen who missed the PFT in the province can join in the scheduled fitness and health tests in other provinces.
Failure to pass the PFT for two consecutive period or four cumulative period can be a ground for attrition in the police service.
