ROXAS CITY, Capiz (May 21) -- The National Statistics Office (NSO) is now preparing for this year’s Census of Philippine Business and Industry and other establishment and enterprise surveys.
Capiz NSO Acting Provincial head Joreto Lope disclosed that part of the preparation is the updating of the list of establishments in the province.
The Updating of the List of Establishments (ULE), he said, started last May 2 and will run until June 16 this year.

According to him, this year’s Updating involves two updating strategies, namely complete enumeration in areas not covered in the 2011 ULE except those barangays with no qualified establishments as certified by the Punong Barangay and through field verification of “no matched” establishments or those establishments that were not listed in the 2011 ULE but were taken from the list of corporations of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Department of Labor and Employment’s and Philippine Economic Zone Authority’s ’s list of establishments.
Lope pointed out that the survey likewise aims to provide updated list of establishments or enterprises with information on their characteristics, distribution of establishments or enterprises, information on business births and deaths and other business demographic indicators, and list of emerging industries.
With this activity, Lope urges establishment owners and proprietors in Capiz to cooperate by giving accurate information to the enumerators as the same will be held in confidence.
