ROXAS City (April 17)— The Robinsons Land Corp. recently held the groundbreaking and laying of time capsules for the Robinsons mall in this city last April 15.
No less than Trade and Industry Secretary Gregory Domingo graced the event that coincided with this year’s CAPIZtahan, the 111th founding anniversary celebration of Capiz.
Arlene Magtibay, Robinsons Land general manager, said the P1-billion mall will be the first full-service mall in Roxas and the eighth Robinsons mall in the Visayas.

The mall’s site is at the northern part of Pueblo de Panay, an emerging commercial development in Brgy. Lawaan here.
A master-planned community development named after the historic town of Panay, Capiz, the 150-hectare Pueblo de Panay is envisioned to be within easy access to residents and visitors.
On the same day, the city government led by Mayor Angel Alan Celino held the groundbreaking of the Roxas City Transport Terminal also at the Pueblo de Panay.
Celino welcomed the new development which the people of Roxas City and Capiz “would be proud of.”
Recently, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas inaugurated its new branch here, a welcome development for the Capiceños and nearby provinces, the mayor said.
The property intended for the Robinsons Place – Roxas covers approximately 75,000 square-meters, fronting Pueblo de Panay’s main road.
Robinsons Place – Roxas may be reached within minutes from the city proper, and is near a host of commercial, economic and socio-civic activities.
The proposed development will be consisting of a two-level commercial mall with more than 700 parking slots. It will have a total gross floor area of 40,100 square-meters with more than enough space for future expansion.
It will have an assortment of boutiques, popular fast-food and quick-service restaurants, an amusement center, a food court, and an al fresco dining area. Robinsons Movieworld will also operate four digital cinemas, including a 3D cinema.
The mall’s anchor tenants will include Robinsons Supermarket, Robinsons Department Store, Handyman and Robinsons Appliance Center.
Robinsons Land’s commercial centers portfolio in the Visayas includes Robinsons Place – Bacolod, Robinsons Cybergate – Bacolod, Robinsons Place – Iloilo, Robinsons – Fuente Osmeña, Robinsons Cybergate – Cebu, Robinsons Place – Dumaguete, and Robinsons Place – Tacloban.
The firm now has 30 malls, with the recent opening of Robinsons Place – Pangasinan.
Expected to open within the next three months are Robinsons Place – Palawan and Robinsons – Magnolia. Robinsons Place – Roxas is slated for completion in the third quarter of 2013.
