Parade Of Lights, Fireworks Highlight Upcoming "Capiztahan"
ROXAS CITY, Capiz (Mar 20) -- Eighteen floats will join the parade of lights on April 14 as among the highlights of the 111th foundation anniversary celebration of Capiz provincial government from April 13 to 15 here.
The celebration dubbed “Capiztahan” aims to sustain its achievements in the tourism industry by promoting Capiz as a premiere tourist destination in the country.
The province made it to the most favored tourist destinations in the country based on the National Statistics Office’s 2010 Household Survey on Domestic Visitors.
The sundown parade of lights will feature three-dimensional giant floats decorated with colorful light bulbs from Dinggoy Roxas Civic Center (DRCC) premises to Baybay Beach here.
A fireworks display will complement the parade upon all the floats which were mounted on four-wheeled vehicles and operated by generator have settled at their respective areas along the road at the beach.
The parade will pass through the long stretch of Arnaldo Boulevard here.
“All our activities are geared towards attracting people to come and see what we can offer,” said One Capiz Foundation Inc. (One Capiz) Executive Director Melanie R. Arancillo during a press conference for the upcoming celebration.
One Capiz spearheads the celebration in partnership with the Capiz as well as Roxas City governments and Cong. Antonio Del Rosario’s First Congressional District Office.
The civil or provincial government of Capiz was created by virtue of Act 115 on April 15, 1901. (JCM/AAL-PIA 6 Capiz)
