Capiz To Open Gov't Center
ROXAS CITY, Capiz (March 1) -- The new Capiz Government and Business Center (CGBC) will officially open for business on April, in time with the 111th anniversary celebration of the establishment of the Capiz civil government.
Based on the tentative schedule of the three-day celebration dubbed “Capiztahan 2012,” the inauguration of CGBC will be on April 13.
Provincial Administrator lawyer Jose O. Villanueva said in a Capiz Provincial Press Bureau (CPPB) news article that a lot of national government agencies (NGA) and businesses have reserved office and commercialspaces from the three-story building.
CGBC, buit at the 3,400 square meter lot at corner San Roque Extension and Fuentes Drive streets, has a total of 104 rooms for rent.
The center’s ground and second floors will be utilized for business–related activities while the 23 rooms at the third floor are reserved for government offices.
The one – stop shop has an elevator, smoke detector and fire extinguisher facilities for the welfare and protection of the occupants, customers and government clients.
Last year, Capiz Gov. Victor A. Tanco, Sr. enjoined the various Capiz–based NGAs to occupy the CGBC to give Capiceños ease in their respective public business transactions.
The chief provincial executive, who recently visited the building, said the infrastructure project will enable people to transact with government offices under “one roof” in order to save time and money.
At present, NGAs are spread out in different privately-owned commercial buildings.
The construction of the 1,600 square meter center officially started last July 12, 2010. (JCM/AAL/PIA 6 Capiz)
