‘Roxas’ Economic Enterprises Earning’
ROXAS City (Nov. 2)– The three economic enterprises of Roxas City – the Bagong Lipunan Trade Center, the slaughterhouse and the Libas Fishing Port – are doing well financially.
In his report during the recent session of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, Market Administrator Rainier “Jojo” Cargando disclosed that the market operation has netted P7.4 million for the third quarter (January to September) broken down as follows:
* P2.7 million for the first quarter
* P2.3 million for the second quarter; and
* P2.4 million for the third quarter.
In the case of Libas Fishing Port, a report by Port Administrator Nereus Azarcon showed that it registered a net income of P2.3 million at the end of the third quarter — P613,600 for the first quarter, P1.1 million for the second quarter and P642,744 for the third quarter.
The slaughterhouse also did well, according to City Veterinarian Dante Corros, after they had intensified their collections.
The three heads of the city’s economic enterprises were commended by the City Councilors during the session.
