PNP Capiz Notes Peaceful Eidíl Fitr Celebration PDF Print E-mail
ROXAS CITY, Capiz (Aug 31) -- The Feast of Ramadhan (Eid’l Fitr) yesterday was celebrated peacefully by the Muslim community here, said the Roxas City Police Station (RCPS).
RCPS Police Community Relations (PCR) Section clerk and Salaam Police Center (SPC) – In – Charge PO3 Jinky Avelino said that more than a hundred Muslims gathered at the mosque in Barangay Tanque here for the early morning prayer and mass.

Avelino was directed by RCPS chief Khasmir Disomangcop to assist, coordinate and attend the Eid’l Fitr gathering in the effort to maintain peace and order by building good relationship and rapport with the Muslim community.

“After the mass, everyone was invited to partake of the food contributed by the Muslims at the mosque,” she said.

Avelino added that the revelry ended peacefully as other Muslims visited their friends and relatives during the day.

The SPC was established by the RCPS to harmonize the relationship of the PNP with the Muslim community here. The Center caters to the Muslim brothers and sisters who need police assistance and actions.

There are about 20 Muslim families permanently residing in the city aside from those temporarily staying here for business ventures. (JCM/AAL/PIA 6 Capiz)
