Roxas City Has ‘Best Police Station’ For WV Component Cities PDF Print E-mail
ROXAS CITY, Capiz (Aug. 15) -- The Roxas City Police Station (RCPS) was cited as the best police station in the component cities category in the Western Visayas Region for 2010.
The RCPS, which boasts of having the only fully equipped and trained Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team in the region, was awarded the title by the Regional Office (PRO)–6 today at Camp Delgado in Iloilo City.

Supt. Khasmir Disomangcop, RCPS chief, received the award during the PRO 6’s 110th Philippine National Police (PNP) foundation anniversary celebration.

PNP was founded on August 8, 1901. In 1991, the PNP was separated from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and became a civilian law enforcement agency under the Department of the Interior and Local Government.

“This award would not have been possible without the support of the Roxas City government,” Disomangcop said in a text message.

The latest achievement of RCPS has been steered by Disomangcop who assumed the city police’s top post last year through the support of his policemen, Roxas City government, and residents, among others.

In 2007, PRO 6 also conferred the same citation to RCPS for besting other component cities in the region and consequently winning the national level award. (JCM/AAL/PIA 6 Capiz)
