Guv Distributes Rice Seeds, Farm Inputs |

ROXAS City (Aug 03)— Gov. Victor Tanco distributed rice seedlings and farm inputs to 16 farmers in support to the “Inbred Rice Seed Production Project” in ESLA, Brgy. Lanot last July 26.
The initiative is a joint project of the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA).
It aims to increase and sustain the rice seed production efforts of the province.
Each beneficiary received a bag of registered seeds, two bags of inorganic fertilizer, eight bags of organic fertilizer, two packets of seed inoculants, one liter of herbicide, one kilogram of fungicide, one kilogram of rodenticide, one liter of molluscide and 75 pieces of sacks.
Meanwhile, farmer technicians from different municipalities received rice seedlings which will be distributed to 2,000 farmer beneficiaries of the province.
Each recipient will receive five kilos of rice seedlings.
“This project is part of my administration’s effort to make the province self-sufficient in rice production,” said Tanco.
“Supporting the agriculture sector is very important in establishing a cornerstone for a vibrant economy,” he added. (CPPB/PN) |
