Capiz Library To Open Doors Anew PDF Print E-mail
ROXAS City (May 20)— The Provincial Board recently approved a resolution reactivating the operation of the provincial public library.

Board member Jonathan Besa sponsored the resolution pursuant to Republic Act 7743, which mandates the establishment of provincial, city and municipal libraries and barangay reading centers.

“Capiz Provincial Library has been inoperative and unused for more than three years … it should be reactivated in order to realize and pursue the government policies in education,” said Besa.

The proposed site for the reactivated library will be at the soon-to-be completed Provincial Government and Business Center on corner San Roque Extension-Fuentes Drive here.

The library will be equipped with computers with Internet connection to provide online access to researchers.

Last year, a public library was also inaugurated at the Ivisan Central School to cater to the needs of students and other residents of Ivisan town and its neighboring areas.

The library in Ivisan, with an area of 252 square meters, is considered the current biggest library in the province.(AAL/PIA/PN)
