Roxas City Launches “Palangga Ko Ini” Movement
ROXAS CITY, Capiz, May 10 (PIA) – Exactly 60 years after the city established through President Elpidio Quirino’s Executive Order No. 438, a movement dubbed “Roxas City Palangga Ko Ini” (I Love Roxas City) will be launched on May 12 here.
The movement was designed to complement implementation efforts of the city’s various projects, legislation and programs as well as to illicit a mindset or attitudinal shift intended to increase commitment among city residents.
Furthermore, the campaign aims to improve the current project and program implementation efforts by involving all government agencies and non-government organizations (NGOs).
It also encourages ownership of the city among residents so that everybody will see and appreciate the value of implementing various government programs and projects in the context of the city’s welfare.
The launching activity will formally encourage residents to get involved in issues hounding us, said Ma. Elena S. Deocampo of the Roxas City Press Bureau (RCPB).
“To strive for a safer and peaceful place is one of the underlying factors behind this movement, she noted.
A series of “stickering” activity will also be conducted after the launching ceremony to create public awareness and advocate wholehearted support from everyone to make the city a much better place to live in.
Roxas City Mayor Angel Alan Celino will issue an Executive Order on the movement during the launching activity.
The city’s chief executive is instrumental in pushing the movement to effect positive changes here under his administration.
The campaign would ensure that tourists will have more reasons to visit the city which had been known as Seafood Capital of the Philippines, Garden Center of Panay, City of the Sea, Cleanest and Greenest Component City in Region Vl, home of disciplined and God-fearing folks and a lot more.
