39% Of Capiz Kids Already Immunized Against Measles PDF Print E-mail
Provincial Health Information Officer Jeoffry Espiritu disclosed that as of April 15, health service providers were able to cover at least 39 percent of the province’s 155,710 target children. Vaccination started in April 4.

Espiritu said that the anti-measles-rubella campaign has the support of more than 5,000 barangay health workers in the entire province, including the barangay tanod and officials who serve as guide to vaccinators.

He added that the said door-to-door immunization campaign is expected to end on May 4 this year.

The Philippine’s intensive campaign against measles is aimed at eradicating measles by 2012 with its battle cry “Iligtas sa Tigdas ang Pinas.”

Espiritu said that health officials in Capiz are optimistic that the target 9 to 75 months old children in all the barangays in the 16 towns and city here will be given immunization. They are set on doing the vaccination even during Saturdays and Sundays to hit their target. (JCM/JBG/PIA6-Capiz)
