Capiz Peacekeepers Enhance Capability PDF Print E-mail
Capiz Police Provincial Director Renato Gumban disclosed that the team from the province was composed of three barangay tanods, two of whom are from Roxas City and one from Ivisan town, and three police officers.

Gumban said that the five-day training, which was held in Iloilo City, was a trainor’s training conducted by their Police Regional Office for the participants from the provinces in Western Visayas.

He disclosed that starting this month, the team which was earlier trained in Iloilo City will conduct a similar training for 5-man teams from the 16 municipalities and city in Capiz who will later hold an echo-training at the barangay level.

Gumban stressed that the BPATs is a multi-sectoral composition, particularly coming from the groups of barangay tanod, civic organizations, nurses, security guards, non-government organizations, academe and other interested participants from the community who are committed to become peacekeeper volunteers.

He added that the training is a package of different courses such as capability building, rescue operation, security, and disaster management, among others.

According to Gumban, except for barangays which are not yet given clearance by the Armed Forced of the Philippines, they have already organized the BPATs in the rest of the villages in Capiz in preparation for the conduct of the training to be held expectedly in March. (JSC/JBG-PIA6 Capiz)
