DepEd-6 to Capiceņos: Particpate In Drive For Early Registration PDF Print E-mail
Written by Vincent Bigcas
Capiz schools division superintendent Eveleth Gamboa continues to urge especially the parents to enroll their children during the Early Registration Day on January 29.

Division pre-school coordinator Heidelyn Geromiano said that Gamboa had earlier directed all the public school teachers to closely coordinate with the local officials in their respective areas, particularly barangay officials, to help in the mapping activities of incoming school children.

She said that Gamboa also asks the support of every Capiceño to take part in this government’s efforts to achieve the universal participation in basic education.

Gerominano said that they have started their intensified advocacy campaign last January 10 regarding the early registration.

She added that part of said activity is the conduct of family mapping and home visits to targeted early enrollees dubbed as “Child or Youth Find Activities.”

In addition, street visits in some instances were likewise directed to be done to get the profile of prospective enrollees, Geromiano added.

The early registration aims to reach more children to be in school as well as make necessary preparations and address the potential needs in time for the opening of classes in June.

Target of this year’s registration are incoming pre-schools (kindergarten) as well as incoming Grade I and first year high school children for school year 2011-2012.

“We need the support of local government units, barangay officials, parents and other civic organizations in our quest for providing education interventions to prevent children from dropping out from school,” Geromiano pointed out. (JSC/JBG - PIA6 Capiz)
