Capiz Watershed Conservation Summit Set PDF Print E-mail
Capiz Gov. Victor A. Tanco, Sr. said that the Capiz provincial government will extend its full support to the summit.

“Each Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer (MENRO) is expected to give presentations on the status of the watersheds in their respective municipalities,” according to an online news of the Capiz Provincial Press Bureau (CPPB) about the summit.

Philippine Watershed Management Coalition Development Administration (PWMCDA) President Dr. Jessica Salas said the preservation and conservation of watersheds will help minimize the flooding incidents of some towns in the province of Capiz.

For his part, Tanco assured that the provincial government continues to monitor the conditions of the 47 watersheds in the province through the Capiz Sustainable Development Council (CSDC).

CSDC is composed of Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Philippine Information Agency (PIA), Capiz State University, Kiwanis Club, Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council (FARMC), and the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDCC).
