The meeting will be attended by the governors, regional directors of national government agencies and representatives of non-government organizations, among others.
Department of Budget and Management Secretary Florencio Abad has been invited to grace the conference, said assistant provincial planning and development coordinator of Capiz Stephen Bediones. The secretary has yet to confirm,” he stressed.
The council was supposed to meet in Capiz for its fourth quarter regular meeting last Dec. 7 but was postponed.
Tanco was appointed by President Benigno Aquino III last December after he was nominated for the RDC 6 top post in September 2010. The President has also appointed Iloilo Business Club former chairperson Marissa Segovia as RDC 6 co-chairperson.
The governor is a graduate of Business Administration from UP Diliman and his career has been centered on local governance starting as a councilor for three terms in Dumarao, Capiz and eventually also as a three-termer mayor, said a National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) regional office press release.
He served as vice-governor of Capiz for three terms and is now in his second term as chief provincial executive.
The new set of RDC officers will serve until June 30, 2013. The RDC is the region’s highest policy-making body.(AAL/JCM-PIA6-Capiz) |
