Capiz Tourism Officers To Meet On Jan. 7 PDF Print E-mail
Provincial Tourism Officer Alphonsus Tesoro said that the day-long activity will include the review of the groups strategic direction for 2011 and initial preparations for the upcoming 12th Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines (ATOP) national convention in the province in October.

“There will also be a fellowship after the meeting,” Tesoro noted.

The group is presently led by Pontevedra town tourism officer Dr. Jinky Lynn Contreras as OTOC president.

In her inaugural message, Contreras said that the organization is committed to help each of the local government units as partner in the development and marketing of the province’s tourism potentials.

With Contreras to steer the organization are Norma Chavez (Jamindan), vice-president; Teresita Argame (Pilar), secretary; Frederick Oleo (Sapi-an), treasurer; Helen Diocera (Panit-an), business manager; Wilson Dalid (Dao), Public Relations Officer; and Rolly Miguel (Sigma), auditor.

Other tourism officers inducted as OTOC members are Roland Aguirre (Roxas City), Ma. Jane Gardose (Tapaz), Leah Gialogo (Dumalag), Jocelyn Mayo (Cuartero), Michelle D. Duronio (Maayon), Marilyn Bebar (President Roxas), Mary Antonnete Delgado (Panay) and Zenaida Langgurayan (Mambusao).

The group has been established to muster the support of the municipalities in pushing tourism. (PIA/A.Lumaque)
