BFP-Roxas City Thanks Media Support In Fire Prevention Campaign PDF Print E-mail
“We have registered zero holiday-related fire accidents,” said BFP – Roxas City Fire Arson Investigator chief and Public information officer FO2 Marlon Garbo.

He added that the accomplishment was attributed to the series of local media interviews and BFP personnel as well as fire truck visibility aimed at reminding Capicenos of possible fire hazards like Christmas lights and fire crackers during the holiday celebration.

“Broadcast media interviews helped a lot,” he stressed.

There are four radio stations and a couple of community channels over city-based cable television companies which served as outlets of the BFP’s proactive measure in line with its “Oplan Iwas Paputok Iwas Sunog Ngayong Pasko at Bagong Taon.”

Garbo added that the print media in the province and regional dailies also helped in the campaign.

The BFP also regulated the sale of firecrackers here to avoid fire accidents in the trade of firecrackers and related merchandise during the holiday season.
