IPs Complete ‘School of Living Tradition’ Orientation PDF Print E-mail
“Eighteen young mothers finished on hat, mat and basket weaving while 21 IP children completed the Inagong, Ambahan and Hinilawod,” said Jamindan Public Information Officer Norma M. Chavez.

The IPs represent the Jamindan Bukidnon Tribes Association (JABTA) and Jaena Sur Tribal Council from the town’s Jaena Norte, Jaena Sur and Agloloway barangays.

Chavez added that NCCA has extended the JABTA and Jaena Sur Tribal Council financial assistance amounting to P58,000 and P53,000, respectively.

The municipal government has also provided a P40,000 counterpart.

SLT aims to revive the Bukidnon Culture, Arts and Craft “so that it could be taught to the present generation and in order to preserve them.”

Weaving will give an additional income to IP young mothers.

It could also help solve the problem of climate change and promote the local government unit’s (LGU) zero waste management program. (NMC-PIA/A.Lumaque)
