Zoe Marie Felipe Herrera ran unopposed in the election held at the Hall of Governors of Capiz in the Provincial Capitol yesterday.
Helen Mestidio, provincial director of the Department of Interior and Local Government, said 11 out of the 17 SK presidents, including Roxas City, were present in the election.
The six others did not show up since some were studying in Iloilo City while others have examinations.
Other officers elected unopposed were:
* Esteban Ronilo Contreras (Pontevedra) – vice president
* Rey Paolo Pisueña (Ivisan) – secretary
* Kriza Fernando (Roxas City) – press relation officer, and
* Earl John Gardose (Tapaz) – sergeant-at-arms.
Gov. Victor Tanco Sr. administered the oath-taking of the newly elected Provincial SK Federation officials after the election.
Earlier reports said the Ugyon Kita Capiz (UKC) will field the Municipal SK Federation president from Panay town as its bet against Herrera.
Due to lack of number to muster enough votes, however, the UKC allegedly boycotted the election, a source said.
Herrera is purportedly supported by the Liberal Party./PN
