Capiz Police Provincial Information Officer Donna Asmod said that PNP Capiz Provincial Director Renato Gumban is giving emphasis to physical fitness and sports program that would help in the police's effective law enforcement activities.

She added that Gumban pointed out that physical fitness and sports activities are necessary for the PNP men and women to have sound mind and body to become effective law enforcers.

Asmod revealed that the PNP Capiz Mini-Olympic 2010 was formally opened last September 14 at Camp Teodorico Apil, Roxas City.

She said that the activity is part of their Human Resource Development Division Action Plan for this year under the Physical Fitness and Sports Development.

Part of the sports events were the parade of different clustered teams around Barangay Lanot proper, opening program and different ball games.

Asmod also said that for basketball games, the PNP men and women from the different police stations in Capiz, including those from the provincial command were clustered into five groups while for other ball games, they were clustered into 3 groups.

According to her, the final winners in this year's PNP Mini-Olympic will be announced during the closing activity on September 24. (PIA)
