The 5-day activity was aimed to equip participants with knowledge and skills on hilot that would provide them another alternative source of income.
Hilot trainer and practitioner Anecito "Atho" V. Dela Cruz, Jr. provided inputs to the participants as resource person during the training which utilized lectures, audio visual presentations and actual demonstrations.
Dela Cruz is also the Executive Director of KASANAG Well-being Centre in Quezon City, Spa Consultant and former member and Committee Chairman for Membership and Events of Spa Association of the Philippines, Inc.
"This will make Capiz unique and attract more tourists," said a Provincial Tourism Office (PTO) employee, adding that among the services requested by visitors is body massage.
The training was in coordination with the PTO, Department of Tourism (DOT) - 6, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
Hilot is an ancient Filipino art of healing commonly used today to relax stressed muscles.
The hilot practitioner intuitively scans the body with touch to diagnose areas which are energetically imbalanced. (PIA)
