BIR Capiz Nets P249-M in 6 Months PDF Print E-mail
Revenue District Officer Gil Tabanda disclosed that from January to June this year, they were able to collect more than P249.72 million revenue.

Tabanda pointed out that said tax collection was higher by more than P28.5 million or 12.89 percent compared to their goal of P221.2 million.

Although the BIR here had surpassed its target in the first semester, Tabanda revealed that there was a shortfall about 7.34 percent in their tax collections in June this year.

He said that from their goal of P50.645 million for the month of June, they were only able to net more than P46.92 million or a decrease of almost P3.72 million.

Tabanda explained that the opening of classes and long drought brought about by the El Niño phenomenon on farm production could have contributed to the shortfall in their tax collection.

On the other hand, he said that the tax collection in the first six months of this year is higher by more than P66.58 million or 36.36 percent compared their collection in the same period of 2009.

Tabanda also said that based on their goal in June 2009, their revenue collection in the same period this year is higher by more than P10.2 million or 27.78 percent.

To further enhance their tax collection in Capiz, Tabanda vowed to step up their tax campaign and enforce strictly the different tax measures. (PIA)
