Capiz Cops Get Firearms PDF Print E-mail
This was in line with the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Modernization Program and Capability Enhancement Plan.

“These do not only enhance our firepower, but also your morale being the recipients. Take good care of these firearms entrusted to us by the government,” said Capiz Police Director Senior Supt. Josephus Angan to police personnel.

CPPO has been allotted 100 units of 9mm-caliber pistols in assorted types — 40 units of Taurus, 15 Stoeger and 45 Tanfoglio.

The distribution was based on CPPO’s list of personnel with “no-issued firearms.”

The firearm units were distributed as follows: CPPO – 14; Provincial Public Safety Management Company – 10; Roxas City Police Station (PS) – 8; Pilar PS – 3; Panay PS – 6; Panitan PS – 3; Pres. Roxas PS – 4; Pontevedra PS – 5; Maayon PS – 4; Sigma PS – 4; Ivisan PS – 3; Dao PS – 3; Cuartero PS – 4; Sapian PS – 4; Tapaz PS – 5; Dumalag PS – 5; Dumarao PS – 5; Mambusao PS – 5; and Jamindan PS – 5.

Angan reminded his men to use the gun as a “last resort” in any situation, when all peaceful means were exhausted.

He also told them to make reading the Police Operational Procedure Manual a habit to avoid lapses in their duties.

Today, the Provincial Human Resource Doctrine and Development Section will conduct familiarization and gun safety lectures to all firearm recipients to avoid accidental firing./PN
