BFP Roxas City Tracks Down Fire-Prone Boarding Houses, Dorms PDF Print E-mail
A seven-member team led by BFP Roxas Operation chief SFO2 Johnie Adrid conducts the inspection to ensure that fire safety measures are being observed by owners of boarding houses and dormitories.

"The owners and operators of these boarding houses have pledged to orient their incoming occupants on fire safety measures to ensure the safety of the students and other boarders," said BFP Roxas City Fire Arson Investigator and Public Information Officer (PIO) Chief FO2 Marlon Garbo.

Based on BFP records, only 11 boarding houses and two dormitories have renewed their permits for 2010.

Garbo noted that the team has also inspected seven schools in the city especially on their respective exit signages and fire extinguishers.

BFP is also engaging into a massive information campaign through the use of mass media in its objective to double efforts in raising public awareness on fire safety and prevention. (PIA)
